2003年以來，中國浙江省已成功舉辦了5屆國際中國傳統武術比賽，為廣大武術愛好者切磋技藝、展示風采搭建了平臺,也為宏揚中國傳統武術作出了積極貢獻。這一賽事得到了國內外武術組織及武術愛好者的喜愛和大力支持,至今已有來自30多個國家和地區、國內各省市的15000人次民間選手參加了比賽。
今年7月30日至8月2日，我省將在杭州市舉辦第六屆國際中國傳統武術比賽。此次比賽設置武術套路、對抗性項目、武術功法、健身氣功等項目，設長拳類、太極拳類、南拳類和傳統拳術類的個人全能大獎和總團體大獎。大賽共設獎金18萬元人民幣。比賽期間還將舉辦中國傳統武術論文報告會和全國武術用品展示會。
杭州是浙江省的省會城市，已有2200多年歷史，是中國著名的七大古都之一。杭州歷來以風景秀麗、氣候宜人、物產富饒而著稱於世，有“人間天堂”之美譽。
我們誠摯邀請各位朋友前來參加比賽，在美麗的西子湖畔談武論劍、觀光旅遊、休閒度假，感受江南水鄉的迷人風采，沐浴濃郁的東方文化，度過一段美好的時光。

Invitation Letter
Dear martial arts practitioners and organizations in China and overseas,
Greetings from the Organizing Committee of 2009 Zhejiang International Traditional Wushu Tournament!
Since 2003, Zhejiang International Traditional Wushu Tournament has been successfully held for five consecutive years, serving as a major platform of both competition and communication for Wushu players, and contributing substantially to the promotion of traditional Chinese martial arts. The tournament has been highly acclaimed and supported by martial arts organizations and practitioners at home and abroad. In the past five years, it has attracted 15,000 participants from different parts of China and from more than 30 countries and regions in the world.
The 2009 Zhejiang International Traditional Wushu Tournament will be held in Hangzhou from July 30th to August 2nd. The tournament will host not only main taolu (form) events, events of combating and basic fighting, body-building Qigong, but also individual all-round and group events of Changquan, Taijiquan, Nanquan and other traditional fist styles. The total sum of the prizes adds up to RMB￥180,000 yuan. During the tournament, a seminar on Chinese traditional martial arts and an exhibition of martial arts equipments and accessories will also be held.
Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, is one of the seven ancient capitals in China and has a history of more than 2,200 years. Known in the world for its beautiful scenery, favorable climate and abundant resources, the city is referred to as “the paradise on earth”.
We warmly welcome all martial arts players from China and the world to participate in the tournament, compete and share experiences with each other beside the West Lake, feast your eyes upon the breath-taking beauty of waterfront cities on the southern part of the Yangtze River, experience the ancient Oriental civilization and enjoy a pleasant stay in Hangzhou.
